Zahraniční a SEPA platba

The most common operation to transfer money to banks outside the Czech Republic or in foreign currencies between banks in the Czech Republic. Based on the entered data, the Smart Payment form will automatically recognise what payment type to use. We distinguish: Domestic payment within the Czech Republic (abbreviated as DPS – Domestic Payment System)

  • SEPA payment in Euro within EU and the European Economic Area (abbreviated as SEPA)
  • Foreign payment in any currency and to any country, when using SEPA is not necessary. (abbreviated as FPS – Foreign Payment System)

If you mistakenly enter a payment that does not meet the parameters of a foreign SEPA payment, we will convert it to a normal domestic payment and ensure it is processed properly.

Description of individual fields of payment

Type of Payment

Mainly affected by the payment currency and beneficiary country.

Entering data using a template

If you have any templates of payment orders saved, you can use them to enter a payment order automatically.

Account to be debited

Please choose an account from which you would like to make a payment. Here you will find all the accounts connected to electronic banking.

Amount

The amount to be transferred must not have more than twelve digits with two decimal places separated by a decimal comma or dot. We will notify you if the entered amount exceeds your available account balance.

Currency

For domestic payment, CZK (Czech crown) currency is pre-set from the list. For foreign payment, the currency must be selected. Depending on the combination of the currency and the beneficiary’s bank country, the form will automatically adapt to either a SEPA payment or to a regular foreign payment.

Due date (maturity)

The due date is the day when the relevant amount should be debited from the account. Always the nearest possible due date is pre-set, either the current or the next applicable banking day. However, you can enter other than the pre-set date. Simply enter it in the field, or choose the option by clicking the calendar icon next to the field.

Please enter the date in the DD.MM.YYYY (e.g. 09.12.2008) or D.M. YYYY (e.g. 1.5.2015) format. If you enter the date incorrectly, we will send you an error message. If the date does not meet the required (permitted) parameters, the order cannot be sent.

In the case of a domestic payment, the Instant Payment and the Priority Payment options are also available. In the case of a foreign payment, the Beneficiary’s Bank Country field is displayed.

Beneficiary’s Bank Country

Based on the beneficiary country, we will evaluate the payment type and pre-complete it in the beneficiary’s bank address.

Into an account

Enter the account, into which you want to send the payment, in the correct format.

For a SEPA payment, the account number must be entered in IBAN format.

For a regular foreign payment, the account number must be entered in the format you obtained from the payment beneficiary.

Beneficiary’s Name

For SEPA payment and regular foreign payment, the payment beneficiary’s name and surname must be entered.

Beneficiary’s Address

For payments in USD or CAD or to the USA or Canada, it is necessary to complete the address as precisely as possible. In the case of Canada or CAD, it is required to enter the full address of the beneficiary: street name, no., city, province/state, country. In the case of the United States of America or payment in USD, the beneficiary’s address in the USA also contains a US state code (two-digits, e.g. AK). If necessary, look at the details. In the case of incorrect completion, there is a risk of the payment not being made or the costs associated with completing the data to additionally increase.

SWIFT/BIC

For a regular foreign payment, it is necessary to fill in the international bank code. For payments outside the European Economic Area, the bank may also be identified by name and address. In such case, you may check the option Unknown SWIFT/BIC and fill in the name and address of the bank in the Beneficiary’s Bank fields.

Beneficiary’s Bank

This is an optional data, and the bank country is transferred from the Beneficiary’s Bank Country in the first section of the form.

Purpose of payment

You must specify the purpose of payment to inform the beneficiary because it is mandatory data. We recommend that you specify the purpose of payment in the language which is in banking practice used as a standard, i.e. in English.

If the purpose of transfer is not specified in English and if it is understandable neither for the beneficiary, intermediary bank nor beneficiary's provider we will not be responsible for any potential failure to process the transfer by intermediary banks and the beneficiary's provider or for any additional costs.

Reference

This field is sometimes called as “End to End Identifier.” Information that you provide here (a maximum of 16 characters) will be displayed in the account statement or an advice for both of you, i.e. you and the beneficiary.

Identification

It is an equivalent of variable symbol in domestic payments; it is used to identify the payment. We will display it both for the payer and the beneficiary.

Expenses

The charge code specifies who will pay fees to intermediary banks for sending a payment. You can choose one of three options in the drop-down menu:

  • OUR - all fees are paid by the payer,
  • BEN - all fees are paid by the beneficiary,
  • SHA - the payer's bank fees are borne by the payer, other fees are borne by the beneficiary (each pays to his bank).

To make payments to EU/EEA countries in their currencies you must enter the SHA code (each pays to his bank) that is automatically set in the “Expenses” field without the possibility to overwrite it.

Both the payer and the beneficiary are always charged fees for payments in foreign currencies according to the applicable Price List regardless the charge code (OUR, BEN or SHA) specified by the client.

How are payments abroad and in a foreign currency in the Czech Republic made

A fee is collected from the payer according to the relevant Price List. If the client specifies OUR or SHA charge code the payer is not charged any fee. If the client specifies the BEN charge code the payment to be credited to the client will be reduced by the fee in accordance with the terms of payment).
